Saturday, February 27, 2010, 06:30

LOUTH AC's Richard Brown put in a good performance at the Lincolnshire County Cross Country Championships.

Brown came second in the senior men's race at a muddy Risehome College, near Lincoln.

He covered the tough 9,700m course in 35 minutes 41 seconds.

The runaway winner, by a huge margin, was Lincoln Wellington's Matt Bowser, who had opened up almost a three-minute gap at the finish.

Grimsby Harriers stalwart John Clark was the sixth veteran across the line, in a contest won by Les Ball.

Mablethorpe AC's Janine Stones was the clear winner of the senior ladies' race.

In the Under-17 men's event, Clee AC's Howie Davies had a good run for third place.
