CLEETHORPES golfer Holly Clyburn tees off in the final round of the Faldo Asia Series Grand Final today at Mission Hills Golf Club, in Shezhen, China, on six over par.

The 19-year-old England girls champion is in 20th equal position in the mixed event after her first round yesterday in the competition hosted by six-time Major winner Nick Faldo.

Clyburn said: "I had a great start and was two under for eight holes, but it went downhill on the back nine. It was a shame because I was in my element at the start of the round.

"But there are some long par four holes on the course that are tough to reach in two shots, making it hard to make par, and it didn't go my way on the back nine.

"I felt my driving let me down and I didn't get enough opportunities to hit greens where I needed too to make putts.

"There was a 20mph wind which kept changing and that made the round harder. But I'm up for the second round, feeling good and am looking forward to the final 18 holes."
