Walker misses the cut in Oz

Friday, March 05, 2010, 13:30

HUMBERSTON'S Sophie Walker suffered disappointment on the second day of the ANZ Ladies Masters, missing the cut for the final two days of the event.

The 25-year-old professional followed up her first round 76 at the Royal Pines Resort with a 73 to finish five over, five shots off the cut.

Walker picked up a birdie at the par-three 11th hole but bogeys at the second and 18th meant that she ended one over for her round.

Of some consolation to the Forest Pines golfer could be her final placing of joint-111th, which was a slight improvement on her position at the corresponding event last year.

The Korean Ji-Na Lim and America's Amanda Blumenherst lead the way in Australia at nine under par, two clear of a star-studded Ladies European Tour field.
