Holly second in Asia Grand Final

CLEETHORPES golfer Holly Clyburn finished second in the girls' Under-21 event at the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final at Mission Hills Golf Club in China.

The 19-year-old Curtis Cup hopeful shot her best round – a one-over-par 73 – on the final day to finish on 10 over for the tournament and 16th equal in the overall mixed leaderboard.

Japan's Masamichi Ito won the event at two under par.

Clyburn, the England girls' champion and French Under-18 Open winner, finished third in the overall girls standings.

She said: "I am very happy with my finish in this tournament. It was a tough few days and it was a tough field as well.

"I have really enjoyed this week. It's been a good experience playing in Asia, which is a lot different to Europe and England.
