Bore happy with role
The 22-year-old has started every match since Woods took over as first team boss and is loving his extended run in the side after being frozen out by former manager Mike Newell earlier in the season.
Bore will be hoping to make his 11th consecutive start for Town in the League Two encounter at Shrewsbury Town tomorrow (3pm).
He said: "I'm just happy to play, I've got a lot of respect for Neil Woods because he's done so much for me over the years, bringing me into the youth team and even before that, so I'm always happy to play for him and work hard.
"I'm going to give it my all for any manager, but the boss has done a lot for me, so I owe him and will always thank him for what he's done, no matter what."
Bore has had to remain level-headed during a testing season, which began with a hamstring injury early in the campaign before both him and striker Danny North were told by Newell they could go out on loan to other clubs.
He added: "I'd got back into the squad but then Mike Newell said that me and Northy could go, which did faze me a bit because I thought I was doing well at time. So I just carried on working hard and when he got sacked, Neil Woods came in and put me in the team."
For the vast majority of Bore's 103 appearances for the Town senior side, he has been seen as an attacking threat, but Woods has temporarily converted the pacy youngster into a right-back. Since then, Bore has been a key part of a miserly Mariners' defence which has kept three clean sheets in its last five games.
He continued: "I've played an odd couple of games at right-back over the last few seasons, but I feel as I'm playing and training there more, I'm getting better game by game and learning more things.
"I'm always aiming to improve every game and every day, but as it's a new position for me it will take a bit more time for me to get there.
"Obviously the manager knows I've got pace, so with any quick winger I can try and stop that threat. But he hasn't really said much more than that, I think he just trusts me in that position and tells me to work hard and do my best for the team.
"I'm happy to be playing football no matter what position I'm in. Naturally I'm an attacking player, but from right-back you can still get forward and get a lot of the ball – I'm just seeing what happens and taking one step at a time."
BUOYANT: Town man Peter Bore, who is enjoying his spell as a right-back under boss Neil Woods.
