FULL-TIME: MORECAMBE 1-1 GRIMSBY TOWN

Saturday, March 13, 2010, 16:45

GRIMSBY Town fought back from a goal down to claim a point in a 1-1 draw at Morecambe.

Town were woeful in the first-half – three changes to the side through injuries to Peter Sweeney, Dean Sinclair and Jamie Devitt not helping matters.

Keeper Nick Colgan again pulled off some stunning saves to keep the scoreline goalless but four minutes before the interval he was finally beaten when Paul Mullin rose at the back post to score another against Town.

Boss Neil Woods changed things around at half-time, bringing on Adam Proudlock and shifting Michael Coulson from the right to left flank.

And just before the hour mark, it was the Barnsley Loan man who moved in from that side to level with his second goal for the club.

Joe Widdowson did well to create the chance which was a simple side-footer from seven yards.

Town then piled on the pressure as Morecambe sat deep but couldn’t find an elusive second goal and a priceless three points
