Clee bowled out by Stu's century

STUART Carrington added his name to the list of century makers when he led Simon Devaney Builders A to a 6-2 victory against Clee Bowls X in the Premier Section of the Roy Ling Mutual Snooker Singles League this week.

Paired against Nige Cordy, he crafted a magnificent 106 break in his first frame, before adding the second with a run of 46. Ashley Wright, with breaks of 64, 55 and 37 added a further two frames before Craig Waddingham and Shaun Willet made it six with singles against Kev Ratcliffe and Paul Simpson.

John Roe Toyota also won 6-2 at Clee Home Guard B, and their 2-0 winners were Paul Metcalf, Jamie Green and Lee Blanchard. Ian Crosby won the two for the home team.

Clee Cons A won 5-3 at Flor Pro and it was Gary Skipworth who won the only 2-0 in the match when beating Alan Edmonds.

LES Engineering won all the frames against GSN Westlands when Jonno Webster, Nige Emmerson, Paul Smith and Paul Clark proved just too strong for the opposition.

Don Noble Bookmakers beat West End A 7-1 when Craig Taylor, Jon Steel and Ian Sadler all won 2-0 and Mark Stevens shared with John Parrott.

A single from Bob Reeves against Albert Potterton, and two-nils from Ivan Harvey and John Cribb gave Windows Warehouse a 5-3 at Blossom Way B. Myles Kennan won the other two frames for the Blossoms.

Westlands B hit Simon Devaney Builders B for six when Pete Smith and Tim Gillin both won 2-0 and Tony Aisthorpe and Mick Thornton shared with Luke Maddison and Simon Devaney.

An opening 2-0 from Kev Cowdroy was cancelled out by a last board 2-0 from Tony Storr as Hainton A drew 4-4 with Ocean Sea Foods (UK).

The top match in Section A saw Carr Lane E play host to The Wellow where Stu McLellan got the home team off to a great start when winning the first frame against Gary Challis.

That was their lot however as Gary levelled before Mick Ponsonby, Graham Challis and James Gledhill all won 2-0.

Beertrix Trotters won 7-1 at Clee Cons B and Healing Mens beat Cambridge H 5-3.

A 2-0 from Terry Burns was the only difference between Cromwell C and Clee Bowls D as Cromwell won the match 5-3.

Paul Taylor, Martyn Shaw and Dave Lawson all won 2-0 for West End B who beat Ray Edmonds H 6-2. Liam Oswin stroked in a lovely 62 when winning both his frames for the Edmonds team.

Cue World Dreamers and Blossom Way fought to a 4-4 draw, with each player winning and losing a frame.

Two-nil wins from Chris Taylor, George Bartlett and Dan Webster gave Hainton B a 6-2 victory at Laceby Manor.
