Craig's century sees Builders to big win

CRAIG Waddingham added his name to the list of century break men when leading Simon Devaney Builders A to a 7-1 victory at Cue World in The Roy Ling Mutual Grimsby Snooker Singles Premier Section.

Playing against West End A's Steve Green he won his first frame with the aid of a modest 36 break but in the second, he showed what a useful player he is when knocking in a marvellous break of 113.

Stuart Carrington and Ashley Wright made the score 6-0 before John Parrott saved the whitewash for the visitors with a single against Craig Rowbotham.

Leaders John Roe Toyota won 6-2 at Hainton A when Paul Metcalf and Jamie Green both won 2-0 and Jamie Richardson and John Parker shared with home players Paul Codd and Tony Storr.

Elsewhere, 2-0 wins from Mike Dowling and Gary Skipworth plus singles from Steve Bloomfield and Karl Krajnyak against Luke Maddison and Butch Reynolds gave Clee Cons A a 6-2 at Simon Devaney Builders B.

Another team to win 6-2 were LES Engineering when 2-0's from Jonno Webster and Paul Smith and singles from Paul Clark and Nige Emmerson saw them home against Clee Bowls X.

Flor Pro were held to a 4-4 draw when Mark Stevens won both his frames and Ian Sadler and Craig Taylor won singles for Don Noble Bookmakers.

An opening 2-0 from Kev Ashby and singles from Bob Reeves, Ivan Harvey and John Cribb gave Windows Warehouse a 5-3 victory at Firemen.

Clee Home Guard B went down 5-3 at home against Westlands B when Mick Thornton won a single and Pete Smith and Tim Gillin both won two for the visitors.

After the opening four frames were shared, Ocean Sea Foods (UK) won 6-2 at MJ Decorators when Jack Stinson and Richard Smith won the last four frames.

Beertrix Trotters got a slam in Section A when Scott Ayres, with his highest Grimsby League break of 72, Steve Donner, Andy Leworthy and Danny Reynolds all won 2-0 at Ray Edmonds H.

The Wellow struggled to a 4-4 draw at Clee Cons B when Mark Goss won both his frames for the home team and Tony Forster and Martin Dowling won singles against Andy Aisthorpe and James Gledhill. Mick Ponsonby won both his frames for the visitors.

The derby game at Carr Lane went in favour of the D team when Mark Leggett won 2-0 and Sean Munson, Brian Ryley and Kevin Munson won singles in a 5-3 victory.

Clee Bowls A beat Hainton B 6-2 when Jamal Uddin, Roy Ling and Gordon Dawson all won 2-0 in reply to a 2-0 from George Bartlett.

A 2-0 from Mark Wilkinson was cancelled out by a similar effort from Danny Harrison as Cue World Dreamers drew 4-4 with Cambridge H.

Blossom Way A picked up three points at TLC Services when Bill Altoft, John Hill and Keith Pulford shared with Neil Sutton, Shane Robinson and Tony Lamberton.

Kev Malkinson gave the home team a 5-3 victory when winning the last two frames.

A black-ball single from Alan McIver stopped Laceby RBL A from getting all the frames at Ray Edmonds K in Section B of the The Roy Ling Mutual Grimsby Snooker Singles League.

McIver shared with Matty Clayton but 2-0s from Danny Braithwaite, Dave Powell and Daz Stansfield extended Laceby's lead at the top of the table.

Clee Bowls B slipped up at home against Steve Austwick Garden Services when a 2-0 from Steve Austwick and singles from Pete Mitchell and Rob Welford gave the visitors a share of the spoils.

Nats A could do no better as a 2-0 from Mike Clark and singles from Mark Rimmer and Phil Neild saw Clark Self Drive earn a 4-4 draw.

The derby game at the Clee Bowls also ended in stalemate, as a 2-0 from Rick Bass cancelled out an earlier 2-0 from Mark Stainton.

An opening two-frame win from Darren Hare together with singles from Pete Sandiford, Kevan Hare and Mick Silver gave Standard A a 5-3 victory against South Bank.

Stamford Homes B drew 4-4 with Phoenix A when John Baker won both his frames in reply to a 2-0 from Chris Yull.

Ray Edmonds Jubilee came from 3-1 down to beat Stamford Snipers 5-3 when Jim Drury and Dave Hobbins won the last four frames.

Grimsby Police put Cambridge X to the cosh in Section C when Ian and Gary Dannatt both won 2-0 and Billy Flynn and Dennis Dannatt shared with Tom Jackson and John Paul Teanby in a 6-2 victory.

Cromwell Comets also won 6-2 when Jason Lawton and Ian Taylor both won two and Scott Hulse and Paul Smith won singles at Hasbeens.

Millfields A couldn't get away from Road Runners as 2-0's from Mike Caborn and Garry Avison were answered by 2-0's from Trev Webster and Matty Hepton as the teams drew 4-4.

A 2-0 from Steve Neul and singles from Lee Neul, Jack Bradshaw and Mark Neul gave Bargate B a 5-3 victory against Standard Under 40's.

Meanwhile, 2-0 wins from Steve Singleton and Geoff Downing and a single from Ian Singleton steered Cabbies to a 5-3 victory against TR Carpets.

Brian West and Gerry Howes both won two and Dave Bunn scored a single as Birds Eye A beat Ray Edmonds J 5-3.

In a game of two halves, Rich Clubley and Mark George put The Unusual Suspects 4-0 up at home against Grimsby Fireplace Centre but Ian Grice and Tony Miller won the last four frames for the visitors in a 4-4 draw.

Grimsby Police A beat Healing Legion 6-2 when Mark Tartellin, Kev Ferguson and George Walters all won 2-0 in response to a 2-0 from John Horne.

Willow Casa moved within a point of Novartis at the top of Section D after a 5-3 victory at home against Birds Eye B.

The visitors made it tough as Wayne Douglas, Paul Grayson and Simon Douglas all won a frame against Steve Cowdroy and John and Andy Williamson but in the end, it was a 2-0 from Rick Kirk that gave the Willows their win.

Novartis lost 5-3 at home against Ramsdens Home Interiors when a 2-0 from Chris Dunham and singles from Mathew McRae, Stuart Usher and Craig Hatfield proved enough for the visitors.

An opening 2-0 from Graham Walker was cancelled out by a last board 2-0 from Paul Taylor as Cue World T drew 4-4 with Cromwell Car Care.

Taylor knocked in a good 30 clearance to win the last frame.

An interesting game at Cue World saw Jenz lose narrowly to Cuedos when Shane Newbold and Daz Edwards both won 2-0 and Liz Sykes shared with Jenny Cocking.

Edwards had to pot green to black to force a re-spot, which he won while Liz, who lost her first frame against Jenny, did well to win the second. Dan Scott won the other two frames for Jenz.
