CLEE Cons B went 11 points clear at the top of the Premier Section in the Roy Ling Mutual Grimsby Snooker Doubles League after Craig Waddingham led them to a 7-1 victory against their A team.

The very first frame of the night saw Waddingham stroke in a superb break of 79 as he and partner Dave Darwent won it to nil before adding a much closer second.

Mick Goodwin and Rob Willerton pulled one back for the A team, but that was all they could muster as Chris Scott and Lee Pawson replied with a single before Jon Steel, Danny Rock, Brian Bridge and Jamie Barrett sealed the win.

Steve Bloomfield and Ian Sadler won the first two frames for Clee Home Guard at home against Cue World Hotshots, only to see Ashley Wright and Glen Barratt reply for the visitors.

John and Albert Potterton, and Myles Kennan and John Hill put them 4-0 up before Craig Sidney and Dave Stewart pulled two back for the home team.

Unfortunately for Blossom, they had to concede the last two frames in a 4-4 draw.

Doubles from Byron Simpson, Dave Page, Alan Porritt and Mike Needham, plus a single from Barry Jebson and Jim Webster against Janett Newell and Ralph Dale, put them 5-1 up before a last board 2-0 from Mick Parker and Dave Walton cut the deficit for the Bowlers.
