OLIVER Webster made a real splash at the 2010 British Gas Yorkshire Swimming Association Age Group Championships – winning gold in all six of his events.

The competition took place at Ponds Forge Sports Centre, and was the first of three weekends which cover all long course events and culminate in a weekend of sprints and team races.

Thirty-five swimmers from CASA (Cleethorpes & Scunthorpe Aquatics) flew the flag for their club.

Sam Legge was the club's first medal winner on the Saturday morning, taking gold in the boys 10yrs 200m butterfly in a time of 2:46.90.

In the boys finals at lunchtime on Saturday, James Burke, Webster and Tom Wells all made it into the final of the boys 12yrs 200m IM and the 100m butterfly, Webster taking the gold in both races with Burke a close second in the IM and Wells tenth. Wells was also sixth in the fly with Burke eighth.

Callum Gladding was a creditable eighth in the boys 13rs 200m Freestyle, also taking silver in the 13yrs 100m butterfly ahead of Kieran Skinner in bronze and Michael Dzieweczynski in tenth place.

In the afternoon, Legge continued his winning streak, taking gold in the boys 10yrs 400m freestyle with Zimmerman in tenth.

On the Sunday morning, Burke, Webster and Wells competed head-to-head again in the boys 12yrs 200m freestyle final, with Webster just pipping Burke to gold with only 0.25 of a second between them, and Wells coming eighth.

Maisie Legge swam in the girls 12yrs 200m Backstroke final, picking up a ninth place pennant. Jones and Skinner took sixth and eighth place in the boys 13yrs 200m breaststroke.

Webster won the boys 12yrs 100m breaststroke with relative ease and Jones and Skinner took seventh and eighth place in the boys 13yrs event.

Legge, proving he was still not tired, secured the bronze medal in the boys 10 years 200m IM with Zimmerman in tenth place.

The final event of the weekend after a long and exhausting two days was the 800m freestyle. Webster continued on his winning form, finishing his weekend with a sixth gold, completing the swim in a time of 9:37.02, some 18 seconds in front of his rival from Leeds. Wells swam well again and gained himself another pennant, just missing out on the medals, for fourth place.

Jones came eighth in the boys 13yrs, Cragg eighth in the girls 11yrs and Molly Newton eighth with Courtney Elford tenth in the girls 13yrs.
